Privacy Policy
1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is MZDEAL, Lda., NUIT 402090065, Av. Daniel Malinda, Casa n.º 142, R/C, Bairro Central A, Distrito Municipal KaMpfumo, Cidade de Maputo. Privacy contact: geral@mzdeal.co.mz.
2. What data we collect
Account: name, phone number and password (the password is stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider; YouGo cannot see it).
Location: the pickup point, the destination and your GPS position while you make a request. For drivers, their position while they are online or on a trip.
Trips: routes, prices, payment method, times, cancellations, ratings, trip chat messages and reported problems.
Drivers: vehicle details (type, make, model, colour, number plate), M-Pesa/e-Mola numbers for receiving payments, balance, top-ups and statement. A human resources record, seen only by the YouGo team: ID card (BI) number, NUIT, address, emergency contact, start date, document expiry dates and incidents (commendations, warnings, complaints, accidents, suspensions).
Driver verification: photos of the Identity Card, the driving licence, the vehicle documents and insurance, the vehicle itself, and liveness check selfies, together with the result of the automated face analysis (whether there is a face, the position of the head and whether the person is smiling). We do not create biometric templates to identify people: the selfies are used only to confirm that the account holder is present and for the team to compare with the document.
Technical data: the account's internal identifier and basic device information needed for the application to work.
3. What we use the data for
To create and manage your account, connect customers with drivers, show the vehicle on the map, calculate prices and commissions, manage drivers' balances, ensure safety, prevent fraud, respond to complaints, improve the service and comply with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
Between customer and driver, during the trip: name, phone number, position and, in the driver's case, the vehicle and number plate.
Technology providers working for us: Google Firebase (database, authentication and photo storage; the data is hosted in Google data centres in the Johannesburg region, South Africa, and driver verification photos in the United States), Google Cloud Vision (analyses drivers' liveness check selfies, without storing the images) and OpenStreetMap map servers (which only receive requests for map images).
Vodacom M-Pesa, for automatic top-ups of the driver's balance: the M-Pesa number, the amount and the top-up reference, solely to process the payment.
PayPal, for PayPal top-ups: the amount and the top-up reference. Your PayPal account or card details are handled by PayPal; YouGo neither sees nor stores them.
Authorities, when required by law or to protect someone's safety.
YouGo does not sell your personal data.
5. How long we keep it
We keep the data while the account is active. After you request the deletion of your account, we delete or anonymise the data, except for data the law requires us to keep (for example, financial and tax records), and for the period the law requires.
6. Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Access is protected by security rules: each person only sees the data they need (for example, only the customer and the driver on a trip can read that trip's chat).
7. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to processing or withdraw your consent. You can correct your name in your Profile and request the deletion of your account under Profile → Delete account, or write to geral@mzdeal.co.mz. We reply within 30 days.
8. Minors
YouGo is not intended for people under 18 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Applicable law
We process data in accordance with Mozambican law, including Article 71 of the Constitution of the Republic, Articles 80 and 81 of the Civil Code and Law no. 3/2017 (Electronic Transactions Law), as well as any personal data protection legislation that may be enacted.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy. Significant changes are announced in the application.
